Description
As a Benefit Specialist at CNG Holdings, you will make a meaningful impact within a collaborative, close-knit team in the financial services industry. This fully remote, Ohio-based role is responsible for the day-to-day management of health and welfare, 401(k), leave, time off, and other benefits, supporting the associate lifecycle and delivering operational excellence and HR support to the organization. You will serve as a subject matter expert, administer benefit programs, ensure compliance with federal and state laws (including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA), manage payroll deductions, oversee open enrollment, and coordinate with vendors. The role also covers leave of absence management, worker’s compensation, tuition assistance, and government reporting. General HR duties include associate support, compliance reporting, system audits, policy maintenance, Workday system rollouts, and process improvement recommendations. You will work independently while collaborating with HR partners, legal, and various internal/external groups. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of HR experience, strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and knowledge of relevant benefit regulations.
Responsibilities
• Administer and communicate benefit offerings (health and welfare, 401(k), leave, PTO, etc.). • Serve as subject matter expert for benefits under HR and legal guidance. • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA). • Manage benefit payroll deductions, arrears, and retro processing. • Support and resolve associate and vendor inquiries. • Assist with Open Enrollment management and execution. • Administer leave and time away policies, including all necessary notifications and compliance. • Oversee workers compensation claims and associated procedures. • Track benefit plan compliance and manage regulatory/government reporting. • Respond to unemployment inquiries and tuition assistance requests. • Reconcile HR questions, perform system audits, and maintain policies/handbooks. • Support Workday rollouts and process improvements. • Build relationships with internal and external partners. • Handle other assigned projects.
